Flicker Button

Dead pixel, keyboard & mouse testers

Privacy

The short version: what you press, click and plug in stays on this page.

What the tests see

The keyboard, mouse and gamepad testers read key presses, clicks, wheel movement, pointer movement and controller input so they can show them to you. All of it is handled in your browser and never sent to Flicker Button or anyone else. The event logs live only on the page and are gone when you press Reset, reload or leave. Apart from loading the site's own files, the pages make no network requests; the one exception is the page-view count described below.

What is stored on your device

Two settings can be saved in your browser's local storage, only on the device you are using: your light or dark theme choice and the keyboard layout you picked in the keyboard tester. They are never uploaded. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes them.

Permissions

The site never asks for your camera, microphone or location. Full screen is only requested when you press a start button. Browsers show a game controller to the page only after you press a button on it; its name and USB IDs are displayed on the page and go nowhere else.

Cookies, accounts and ads

There are none. There is no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking across other sites.

Page-view counts

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our host Cloudflare adds to each page, to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across sites, and it never receives what you type, click or press in the tests.

Links to other sites

Pages link to references such as the W3C and MDN, to sister sites and to two recommended services, CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
